  • Communication is key in a relationship.  If you don’t tell your significant other what is on your mind, and tell them your needs, along with effectively sharing feelings, opinions and what you expect, then your relationship will suffer.  Proper communication builds trust.

  • Healthy boundaries are extremely important since they help regulate what you are comfortable with and how you wish to be treated.  Partners who respect each other’s boundaries are better able to see each other’s point of view.  

  • Spending quality time with each other is important to move past the beginning awkward stage.  It takes time for two individuals to truly know one another.
